Sudan floods kill 52 individuals—state media



KHARTOUM, Sudan — Flooding brought on by torrential rains in Sudan have killed at the least 52 individuals and broken or destroyed hundreds of houses, state media reported Saturday.

Heavy rains often fall in Sudan between Could and October, and the nation faces extreme flooding yearly, wrecking properties, infrastructure, and crops.

“A complete of 52 individuals have been killed and 25 others wounded attributable to torrential rains and floods for the reason that starting of the autumn season,” SUNA reported, quoting Abdel Jalil Abdelreheem, spokesman for Sudan’s Nationwide Council for Civil Protection.
